Advent Calendars have become more and more popular over the last few years, and each year I have thought about treating myself to a non chocolate advent calendar. This year I took the plunge and bought the Yankee Candle Advent Calendar for myself.
There are a few different Yankee Candle Advent Calendars available, with different size candles, scents and prices attached to them. I opted for the Yankee Candle Sparkle Advent Calendar which is the cheapest in the range.
I was tempted by the more expensive advent calendars, however the Sparkle advent calendar contains 24 tea lights, which is perfect for burning every day.
Yankee Candle Advent Calendar Scents
Before purchasing my Yankee Candle advent calendar, I was keen to look at the scents included. There are six different scents included, Icy Blue Spruce, a new scent for 2018, Glittering Star, Crackling Wood Fire, Sparkling Cinnamon and All Is Bright.
I have previously had the Crackling Wood Fire scent from Yankee Candles and was looking forward to this one. Each of the scents are duplicated three times over the 24 days in December.
Icy Blue Spruce
Icy Blue Spruce is a new scent for 2018, and contains a mix of juniper berries, blue spruce and spearmint leaves. Burning Icy Blue Spruce in a tea light, I found the throw to be very subtle. I was hoping for it to be stronger which was a shame.
Glittering Star is another new scent for 2018, containing a mix of sandalwood, sugar plum and ginger. Glittering Star gives off a nice subtle throw from a tea light.
All Is Bright
All Is Bright has citrus scents and warm musk. I love this combination and it’s definitely one of my favourites in the Yankee Candle Advent Calendar.
Crackling Wood Fire
Crackling Wood Fire has a great throw even from a tea light. It gives off scents of nutmeg and warm amber. It’s a unique aroma but one that i do love.
Something a little sweeter from snowflake cookie. Containing cookies and pink icing, if you like sweet-scented candles then you’ll enjoy this one.
I’m not a huge fan of cinnamon, but this vibrant red tea light shade lured me in with its amazing aroma. Even in its small tea light form, the throw was strong, so I can imagine this would be very strong from a larger candle.
Is The Yankee Candle Advent Calendar Worth The Cost?
The Yankee Candle Sparkle Advent Calendar retails for around the £25 mark and contains 24 tea lights and a tea light holder. Obviously you can buy tea lights cheaper when they’re not packaged in pretty advent calendar packaging, however I think it’s worth the price tag.
If you compared the Yankee Candle Sparkle Advent Calendar to some of the more expensive advent calendars on the market, then I think you’re getting good value for money with this one.
As a treat every evening, I can light a tea light, and it lasts long enough for the whole evening, but I’m not left with half a candle wondering whether I’m going to continue burning the following day or let it gather dust on a shelf until the end of December.
